Crossfire is a 3rd person shooter in which players are thrown into an arena to duke it out with 9 other players.
The goal of the game is to eliminate all other players. However, unlike normal shooters, each player spawns with a random gun. In the lobby, players can equip up to 4 guns. Once the round starts, the player spawns with a randomly selected gun from the set of 3 guns that they equipped in the lobby.
If you spawn with a shotgun in a map that has lots of open field for sniping, hope isn't entirely lost. Each map will contain a few randomly generated loot items (including guns) for you to pick up and equip, should your gun not be the best fit for the map.
This encourages you to select guns that fit your playstyle, since there there will be too many types of guns (sniper rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, assault rifles, etc.) to equip 1 of each.
rounds
Rounds last 5 minutes. Once the round reaches 1 minute, any player that has died and/or is in the lobby votes on how the remaining survivors will die. The vote lasts 30 seconds, and the event that wins splashes into the arena with 10 seconds remaining, quickly killing off any remaining players.
equipment
The various types of guns are the center point of Crossfire. Each gun has a specific rarity, either: Common, Rare, or Legendary. Rarer guns will have slightly better stats than more common ones, though the focus of rarer weapons will be more aesthetic than functional.
Players will only be able to equip 1 Legendary gun at a time, and will be able to equip as many Common or Rare guns as they wish (up until the 4 gun limit, of course). Any excess guns will be stored in the player's inventory.
